Under Section 9 of the said act it clears that the establishment of District Forum by the State Government in each district of the State. However, the State Government may establish more than one District Forum in a district if it deems fit to do so.
 
The value of goods or services and the amount of compensation on the basis of the pecuniary jurisdiction in accordance with the act states that under Section 11 (1) disputes upto the amount of 20 Lakh lies under the jurisdiction of the district forums, whereas, section 17 (1) (a) states that disputes upto the amount of Rs. 1 crore is resolved before the State forum beyond that it is presented before the National forum and appellant may further if unsatisfied with the decisions of district forum under section 21 (a) of the Act . Lastly under Section 23 of the Act, the decision of the National Commission may be put forward in the Supreme Court against the provision to appeal.
